Internship Areas
As an approved SkillBridge organization, OCF offers internships in various areas, including but not limited to:
- Ministry and outreach
- Office and administrative support
- Strategic and operational planning
- Food service in conference center ministry
- Hotel management
- Facilities and maintenance management
For many service members, the transition from active duty brings more questions than answers: What’s next? Where can I serve? How can I live out my faith in this next season of life?
At Officers’ Christian Fellowship, we believe the journey doesn’t end at separation—it changes form. That’s why we’re honored to be an approved DOD SkillBridge organization, helping transitioning service members discover purpose beyond the uniform.
Through SkillBridge, OCF provides opportunities for transitioning military members to spend up to six months serving alongside our ministry teams—whether remotely or on site at one of our locations, including our two conference centers—while continuing to receive full military pay and allowances.
But what really makes the experience unique is what participants take away from their internships.
Landon Spaulding said he was searching for an internship that would blend his calling to ministry with the skills the military had developed in him. He found that through SkillBridge with OCF. “There are so many different areas in which you can serve and use the giftings that God has given you, and [the staff there are] so willing to kind of match your talents and do some talent management and plug you in where they can see that you would best serve,” he said.
Alyssa Mersino brought her passion for digital media to her internship, producing a short film about Rocky Mountain High, Spring Canyon’s leadership and adventure program for cadets, midshipmen, and junior officers. “I summited a 14,000-foot mountain for my SkillBridge internship. How many people can say that?” she shared. While most of her internship was remote, Alyssa appreciated the chance to travel, connect with mentors, and use her creativity to tell meaningful stories.
For David Jorgenson, whose internship wraps up in May, the draw wasn’t just the work—it was the people. “It was less about particular skills or a career path and more about taking part in a culture that is Christ-focused,” he said. David has been helping refine OCF’s Integrated Faith Project and said he has found deep spiritual growth in the process: “The support, humor, devotions, and conversations are extremely life-giving and encouraging.”
Whether you’re looking to engage in strategic planning, explore ministry and outreach, or contribute to hospitality and operations, there’s likely a way to plug in at OCF. And more importantly, there’s a community ready to walk alongside you as you discern your next steps.
