OCF announces several job changes taking place across its team

The new year quickly brought several new staffing changes for OCF.

After completing his SkillBridge internship with OCF in January 2025, Landon Spaulding joined OCF staff as the online training development coordinator.

After serving on staff since 2019, Maxwell-Gunter AFB Field Staff Tim and Kim Tormey announced in early February that they will step down from their role to pursue other ventures near their home in Alabama. Central Regional Coordinators Hous and Tami Waring will take over this position from the Tormeys in June.

Director of Field Operations Colin Wooten has been appointed as the next deputy executive director of Association for Christian Conferences, Teaching and Service (ACCTS), starting in April. Having served with his wife Amy as the Field Staff couple at the U.S. Military Academy and as the DFO at the Home Office since 2020, Colin will now continue ministry to the military community through ACCTS, which seeks to develop Christian leaders and military fellowships in the armed forces worldwide and got its start through former OCF Executive Director Cleo “Buck” Buxton.

After serving as the interim Field Staff couple at the U.S. Military Academy since the summer of 2024, Bob and Tracy Phillips will be concluding their temporary position there in the coming months to pursue other ministry opportunities. OCF is accepting applications for this USMA OCF Field Staff position until 15 April.

Having served in campus ministry for more than 50 years, Director of ROTC Ministry Larry Sherbondy is stepping down after four years of faithful service with OCF as part of a partnership with The Navigators. WSS Director of Operations John Hoyman will take over the director of ROTC ministry role from Larry in the fall. WSS is accepting applications for its Director of Operations role until 1 May.

OCF is immensely grateful for the wonderful contributions of the Tormeys, Wootens, Phillipses, and Sherbondys over their many years of service to this ministry and wishes them the best as they follow the Lord’s leading. OCF also thanks Landon, the Warings, and John for all they have done in their prior positions and looks forward to continuing to labor alongside them in their new roles within this ministry.

Please pray for the OCF team in this season of transition. View all open positions here: ocfusa.org/job-openings.

OCFers gather for the second annual Global Town Hall

“So many encouraging reports about how the Lord is working through OCF!”
“Hearing about OCF’s renewed focus on local leaders.”
“Hearing the testimony of the couple that was doing amazing work in Colorado Springs.”

No matter the age and stage of life, there’s something valuable for everyone in the latest recording of OCF’s second annual Global Town Hall. The anonymous feedback above from real-time attendees proves as much.

“What a great opportunity to be able to do what we’re doing,” said Col Dale Holland, USAF (Ret.), who serves as OCF Council president, when kicking off the event. “It is just an amazing thing to be able to reach out to the entire globe.”

This year’s gathering featured ministry-wide updates from Dale and Col Scott Fisher, USAF (Ret.), who serves as OCF’s CEO/Executive Director. Building on the success of last year’s Global Town Hall, this year’s expanded the spotlight by including ministry updates from a variety of leaders: MAJ Josh and Lindsey Bowen, USA, a Local Leader couple in Colorado Springs; CH(COL) Bob Phillips, USA (Ret.), the OCF interim Field Staff at the U.S. Military Academy; and OCF Conference Center Directors Kim Hawthorne and Paul Robyn.

Summary of Fall 2024 OCF Council Meeting

In October, the OCF Council met at the Home Office in Colorado Springs, Colo., with 19 Council and Special Council members in attendance, alongside about 40 home office and field staff. Out-of-town guests were generously hosted by local Hospitality Homes, a unique aspect of OCF’s ministry.

The meeting theme was inspired by Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV): “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

The meeting began on Day One with our Pray-Discover-Obey session, followed by updates from each director on their team’s recent work, including ministry highlights, praise reports, and prayer requests.

Next, all Council committees shared progress on key initiatives. The Talent Committee updated the Council on preparations for the most recent election, while the Governance Committee outlined efforts to refine internal processes. The Strategic Analysis Committee presented plans for environmental scans that will inform our next strategic planning phase. The Stewardship Committee reviewed the FY24 annual audit, which the Council voted to accept.

On Day Two, the Council heard ministry updates from the field—starting with a Regional Coordinator couple, then an Area Coordinator couple, and then three sets of Local Leaders who each steward thriving Biblical fellowships. All staff and Council members present then engaged in a question-and-answer time with the Council focused on respective ministry roles, aligning priorities and efforts, and maximizing the impact of OCF on the military community.

The meeting closed with a time of worship and corporate prayer, renewing the Council’s commitment to OCF’s mission and to glorifying God in all that we do.
