Tim & Kim Tormey, Maj (USMC, Ret): “Parenting Through the Ages”

About the Topic: Parenting 15 kids doesn’t make us experts. It probably just means we’ve had more opportunities to exercise patience and more failed outcomes at doing so. One constant has been Christ in our family. He enables us to love, feed, teach, train, and share the Gospel in the military community. In Romans, Paul lists the marks of a True Christian including genuine love, tribulation, prayer, and hospitality. Jump in on the discussion on this arduous and yet worthy calling to parent the next generation.

About the Speaker: In 1999, Tim graduated from the Naval Academy. Three days later he married his high school sweetheart, Kim. Tim served in the Marines on active duty for 20 years while Kim raised Riley (21), Jacey (20), Brennan (17), Martha (17), Patrick (15), Michael (15), Lilianna (13), Brady (11), Olivia (9), Zaid (8), Mamie (8), Jameson (7), Shawn (5), Nolan (1), and Cian (2 months). Four of our kids are adopted but they are all our children. Tim, Kim, and the gang now serve as the Field Staff couple at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL. Their home is always eventful but they love to show hospitality, so if you’re in the area, stop by for dinner and a “show”.

Concurrent Programs Available: Horsemanship Day Camp (ages 8+), Camp Caleb Day Camp on June 16 (2nd-3rd grade), Camp Caleb Junior (3rd-4th grade), Camp Caleb Adventure (5th-6th grade), and Allegheny Outback! (9th-12th grade)

Horsemanship Day Camp is a great opportunity for kids (ages 8+) attending our Summer R&R program to learn more about horses. Our Wranglers teach aspiring equestrians basic horse anatomy, the essentials of riding equipment, techniques for tacking and grooming a horse, walking and trotting instructions for beginners, and then they’ll all hit the trails to gain real-world experience! Daily devotionals throughout the experience will focus on the lessons we can learn from one of God’s most majestic creatures.

A five-day traditional summer camp program with age-specific programs for rising 2nd-8th graders, Camp Caleb brings military youth into an authentic personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to strengthen their own family and peer relationships, and to prepare them for standing for Jesus Christ as teenagers.

A six-day program for rising 9th graders through recent high school graduates, Allegheny Outback! challenges teens to develop their very own personal knowledge of God by modeling Christ in real-life situations with plenty of adventure along the way.
