Dr. Gary Phillips: “James: The Work Out of Faith”
About the speaker: Gary is the husband of Betsy (50 years), grandpa, college and seminary professor, author (including Making Sense of Your World, with Bill Brown and John Stonestreet), and pastor. He loves the OCF and has been coming to teach at WSS for almost 40 years. Gary and Betsy live in Chattanooga, TN, where Gary remains on staff as Pastor Emeritus at Signal Mountain Bible Church, and teaches modular courses at various seminaries.
About the topic: Putting our faith into practice is our daily challenge, and often we just don’t feel up to it. James is our coach, our trainer, our cheerleader, and our referee equipping us for practical Christian living—living in a way that shows who Jesus is and what Jesus looks like to those around us.
Concurrent Programs Available: Camp Caleb Junior (3rd-4th grade), Camp Caleb Adventure (5th-6th grade), Camp Caleb Challenge (7th-8th grade), and Allegheny Outback! (9th-12th grade)
A five-day traditional summer camp program with age-specific programs for rising 2nd-8th graders, Camp Caleb brings military youth into an authentic personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to strengthen their own family and peer relationships, and to prepare them for standing for Jesus Christ as teenagers.
A six-day program for rising 9th graders through recent high school graduates, Allegheny Outback! challenges teens to develop their very own personal knowledge of God by modeling Christ in real-life situations with plenty of adventure along the way.
