Q: What's your testimony?
A: I lived to please my flesh through the first 29 years of my life. In 1993, God put several strong believers on my path; He exposed my wretched condition and then revealed His love and plan of salvation for me through Jesus Christ. I committed my life to Christ… I no longer live, but Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20, ESV).

Q: How would you describe OCF's ministry in your personal life as integrated at your current assignment or location?
A: As a Christ-Follower, Senior Army Executive, and 30-year veteran, I strive to achieve the OCF vision daily through my personal and professional interactions with service members, Defense Department civilians, contractors, industry partners, local officials, and families. I try to treat every encounter as a divine opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a troubled and often hurting world. Through the global OCF network, I am encouraged and equipped to serve.

Q: What motivates you to serve on the OCF Council?
A: I have been blessed to serve on the Council for ten years. I am passionate about the OCF mission and our military, with three sons and a son-in-law serving. Having worked on OCF's original Strategic Framework, I bring unique insights and perspectives to help the Council and staff update the Strategic Framework to guide OCF over the next several years.

Over and over again Jesus said, “I am . . .” L

Over and over again Jesus said, “I am . . .” Look up the following verses in John’s Gospel: 6:35; 8:12, 23, 24, 58, 58: 10:7, 11, 14; 14:6; 18:5. In each case the Greek is ego eimi, “I myself am.” If His statements were incorrect He was a liar, and therefore could not have been “a very good man.” If His statements were true, then He must have been Divine.

We can say in all reverence that the Lord Jesus Christ claimed for Himself more than any man who ever lived, and yet His “egotism” is attractive and not repelling. Could this be possible if He was not God?

If further proof is needed, it can be found in the fact that the Gospel or good news that Jesus Christ brought to a sinful world has indeed been “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). His message has transformed the most “hopeless cases;” has delivered the worst of men from sin; has “converted” drunkards, prostitutes, and—in some ways the hardest of all—men who are self-righteous and “good” from the world’s point of view.

The resurrection of the Lord is also a proof of His Deity (see Study 19, Romans 1:4). One of the greatest proofs of the Deity of Jesus is a really “live” Christian. It is remarkable that our calendar dates from the birth of our Lord.

A Rocky Mountain ROTC Retreat recap from OCF Director of ROTC Ministry Larry Sherbondy: "[The same weekend as the Midwest ROTC Retreat,] at Spring Canyon, 23 cadets met to consider 'Spiritual Fitness.' Like all these retreats, this one was a great example of how we are learning to partner together with our fellow ROTC ministries.

"Speakers included CH(1LT) Christian Rainbolt, USAR, Valor Regional Director Bobby Rainbolt, and OCF Colorado Springs Area Coordinator Tom Falconer. Devotions were led by Tyler Williams, team leader of Cru in Northern Colorado.

"Of particular interest to the cadets was a talk given by CH Rainbolt on the role of chaplains and the path to becoming a chaplain in our military.

"The cadets had ample time for reflection, interaction, prayer, and seeking God in His Word, as well as for taking in the incredible beauty and all that Spring Canyon has to offer!"

OCF stewards two conference centers and numerous staff homes in various locations across the country. We are blessed with a great team of facility staff and have several engineers who serve usually in multiple roles.

Director of Infrastructure and Facility Management Joe Orosz is seeking out members or friends of OCF who have skills across the whole spectrum of facility management (master planning, design, construction, or facility maintenance) and could be available to assist OCF in the furtherance of our stewardship calling.

👋 Please Meet: LT Amy Stallard, USN 👋

Q: How did you first get involved with OCF?
A: I started going to the Sunday morning OCF Bible Studies during Plebe Summer at USNA in 2015, and have remained involved ever since.

Q: Why OCF?
A: While I grew up attending church, OCF taught me the true joys of walking the Christian life with fellow believers, the importance of mentorship, and how to faithfully lead a Bible Study. I also have greatly appreciated OCF’s focus on encouraging intentionally in both faith and profession in our unique military environment.

Q: Why a military life?
A: Growing up my family wasn’t military, but we served our local community through the ministry of foster care. I believe God used that experience to put a desire to serve and protect others on my heart, and ultimately, He led me to the military.

Q: What’s on your bucket list?
A: To climb all of Colorado’s 14ers.

Q: What music have you been enjoying lately?
A: The Oh Hello’s album: Dear Wormwood

Q: What’s the best advice you’ve received?
A: “Man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” That God’s glorification and human passion are not at odds, but fulfilled through worship.

Q: What excites you about serving on the Council, and what do you hope to achieve?
A: I’m excited to see how the Lord uses our varied experiences and gifts to give back to OCF and the military community at large; I hope to follow God’s will, well-represent Naval junior officers, and serve God faithfully.

Q: What has the Lord been teaching you?
A: Even good things can become an idol if placed above the Lord–we must continually surrender ALL to Him.

Q: What’s your life Bible verse?
A: Philippians 2:3-5

What have you seen God do through your own we

💬 What have you seen God do through your own weakness? 💬

People often make excuses for not doing any particular work for God. These are of no more value now than they were in the days of Moses, Gideon, or Jeremiah. Their excuses were probably partly evasion and partly false modesty.

The reply that came from God was in each case more or less the same: “Don’t dwell on your insignificance, but think of My power, for I will be with you.” Even Gideon who was “the least of my family” (Judges 6:15), was able to prove that “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

When anyone has come as close to God as Moses did (Exodus 33:11) then there will be real modesty. We can be too “great” for God to use, but we can never be too weak or insignificant. No amount of devotional life can make up for a retreat from the difficult tasks in life (Mark 10:27). Don’t apologize for your faith. Launch out boldly; you cannot steer a stationary bicycle! 🚲

Pray for the FCMM (Fellowship of Christian Militar

Pray for the FCMM (Fellowship of Christian Military Ministries) Annual Conference, which begins tomorrow. OCF is the lead organizer for the event that will be held in Colorado Springs, and the theme of the conference will be "Serving together for the gospel in the military society: Digging deep into the chaplain-church-parachurch partnership."
